Creativity is a personality trait that is very important in research. Our ability to be creative can be influenced. Below is Ken Robinson’s classical speech describing how an important challenge for the current educational system is to avoid killing children’s’ creativity. He emphasizes, among other ideas, that you are unlikely to contribute with new ideas if you are not prepared to be wrong. This is a TED lecture held February 2006.
