Introduction to computer software

Computer software are often used both in qualitative research as well as when using statistics. They are very good at keeping track of many observations.

Software used in empiric-holistic (qualitative)  approach can help you keep track of data but you usually have to identify the patterns yourself. Software used in empiric-atomistic (quantitative) approach (=statistics) can use certain statistical procedures to identify patterns among data.

You will find introductions to some common computer software when you click on submenus under the menu “Introduction to computer software”.
